Ruins of his farm can still be seen today on the banks of Erik's Fjord, where majestic icebergs contrast the fertile mountains. Narsarsuaq is the gateway to south Greenland where you can marvel at nature's wonders such as the Qooroq Glacier and the inland ice cap, while Narsaq offers hiking trails and Eric's Fjord. Itinerary

Day 1: Copenhagen - Narsarsuaq - Narsaq

Greenland PhotoEnjoy a morning flight from either Copenhagen or Reykjavik to Narsarsuaq. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for check-in and an informational meeting. This is the area where Eric the Red settled and found the inspiration to name the country Greenland. Relax and enjoy your first night in this amazing country.

Day 2 & 3: Narsarsuaq

Greenland PhotoDuring your stay enjoy a tour to Erik the Red's Viking ruins. Cross the fjord by boat and go ashore at Qassiarsuk, a sheep breeding settlement situated on the very spot where Erik the Red settled in the year 985. Visit the ruins of "Brattahlid," his farm, as well as some local Inuit ruins nearby.
Another included tour is a cruise between icebergs to the mouth of the Qooroq Glacier. The Greenland ice cap is producing 250million tons of icebergs every summer and the Qooroq Glacier is one of the most active. Silently drift in the amazing surrounding as you listen to the glacier "calving." Return to your hotel in the evenings.

Day 4: Narsarsuaq Ð Narsaq

Greenland Photo by Karsten BidstrupAfter breakfast transfer to the harbor for a boat ride to Narsaq. Upon arrival meet your local guide and go on a walking tour of the village. Learn about the day-to-day life in Narsaq including the old Kayak Harbor.

Day 5: Narsaq

Here we go a shore on an island emerging from the edge of the ice cap at the twin glaciers. Walk up and touch the ice cap! A packed lunch is served while you take a break to enjoy the scerary. Before returning to Narsaq sail into a bay with steep cliffs full of birds and a hugh waterfall.

Day 6: Narsaq

In the morning be prepared for an amazing hike through the Dyrnæs Peninsula. The easy hike passes Norse ruins and Inuit graves as you travel along some of the most beautiful views in the world. The hike is approx 6hrs long and includes a lunch break as well as shorter photo breaks and educational antidotes a long the way. Return to Narsaq in the evening.

Day 7: Narsaq

Celebrate your last day in Greenland. The town is a perfect place to expeirence everyday life in a small Greenlandic town. Hike the surrounding countryside or join another tour of the area such as a boat ride to visit Inuit ruins or experience a true Greenlandic Buffet. Return to your hotel and enjoy your last night in Greenland.

Day 8: Narsaq - Narsarsuaq - Copenhagen/Reykjavik

Enjoy a leisurely morning before your boat ride to Narsarsuaq. There transfer to the airport for your return flight to either Copenhagen or Reykjavik.
